Northern Lights Husky Hunt
Experience the magic of the polar night on this extraordinary Northern Lights Husky Hunt! This evening dogsledding tour takes you through the silent, snow-covered wilderness of Oinakka, just outside Kiruna. Sit comfortably as an expert guide drives your sled, offering you the best opportunity for a spectacular night dogsledding Aurora experience.
As the sled carves through the snow, you will instantly appreciate the deep silence of the Arctic night, broken only by the soft clinking of necklines and the runners on the snow. The goal: total immersion in the wild beauty of Arctic Sweden. Our professional guides manage the eager team of Alaskan Huskies, ensuring your safety and comfort throughout this exceptional evening ride. We handle all the logistics; you simply sit back, breathe the crisp Arctic air, and keep your eyes focused on the dark expanse above, or the silent athletes in front of the sled. The route winds through open areas where the sky is most visible, maximizing your viewing potential.
In Pursuit of the Aurora Borealis
This tour aims to provide you with the optimal chance to witness the spectacular phenomenon of the Aurora Borealis. The timing and route, starting from our camp in Oinakka outside Kiruna, are specifically chosen for maximum darkness and minimal light interference. However, as the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon controlled by solar activity and weather conditions, we cannot guarantee a sighting during your trip. Regardless of what goes on in the sky, the overall experience of dogsledding at night through the silent wilderness remains profoundly beautiful and memorable. To keep you warm, we provide insulated overall, but we highly recommend wearing multiple warm layers of clothing to fully enjoy this tour.
A Traditional Break and Legendary Tales
Approximately halfway through, we pause along the trail for a moment of true Arctic tradition. We gather around a blazing campfire, providing a perfect opportunity to warm up and stretch your legs. This is the perfect time to cuddle your husky team and of course take photos. By the fire, your guides will serve a traditional Swedish fika, a warm, comforting hot drink and delicious cookies. While you relax and refuel, your guide will share stories about dogsledding and ancient legends of the Aurora Borealis.
