Northern Lights Tour on Horseback

We begin by picking you up in Kiruna C and driving to our farm westward. Together, we prepare the magnificent Icelandic horses for riding. These gentle animals are perfect for this journey. We hope to see the beautiful Northern Lights and a clear, star-filled sky. We are probably also going to see some moose during the evening. This entire experience, certified by the Swedish Ecotourism Society’s label, Nature’s Best, is a unique way to combine wildlife spotting and the hunt for the Aurora, utilizing the calm nature of the horses.

This Icelandic horse tour Northern Lights experience ends with dinner and conversation around the fire in a goahti (Sámi hut). You will be served local specialities like game or fish, giving you a taste of the regional cuisine. While sitting around the fire, you get to know more about the animals, nature, and local culture. This tour is suitable for most guests, but riding experience is required to ensure you can safely control the horse at faster gaits than a walk, making it perfect for seasoned riders seeking a peaceful adventure.

Essential Tour Details and Logistics

The Northern lights tour on horseback lasts about 4.5 hours. It runs from 3:50 pm to 8:20 pm (Oct–Feb) or 5:20 pm to 9:50 pm (Mar). The price is SEK 2,595/person (min 2 pers). Included: riding, guide, helmet, warm outdoor clothes, dinner, and transfer from Kiruna C. Minimum age is 12 years and the maximum weight is 90 kg. Note: Riding experience is required—you must be able to ride in gaits faster than a walk. After the tour, we bring you back to your drop-off location.
