Moose Safari on Horseback

We pick you up in Kiruna C and drive to our farm westward, traveling through the winter land of the moose. Even the transfer offers a good chance to see moose or reindeer close to the road! After arriving, we prepare the reliable Icelandic horses and head out for a tour in the forest where the moose typically reside during the day. This moose spotting tour on horseback in Swedish Lapland is focused on silent observation. If conditions allow, we usually try the special gait, “tölt,” making the riding experience smooth and unforgettable. Riding experience is not required— this tour is suitable for guests with and without riding experience.

Wildlife Viewing on Horseback and Lunch

Our guides know the prime spots for wildlife viewing on horseback outside of Kiruna and focus on searching the areas where moose are known to be active. The back of a horse gives you the perfect vantage point for spotting animals from a distance without disturbing them. After the exhilarating ride, the tour ends back at our farm where we gather for a satisfying lunch. After lunch, we take care of your transfer back to Kiruna. Essential Tour Details and Logistics

The Moose safari on horseback is an approximately 5.5-hour tour, running from 9:20 am to 2:50 pm. Included: riding, guide, helmet, warm outdoor clothes, lunch, and transfer from Kiruna C. (pick up from ICEHOTEL can be booked at an extra charge of SEK300 per person). Minimum age is 12 years and the maximum weight is 90 kg per rider.
