Day Tour to Abisko

We start our journey in Kiruna and head west on deserted roads towards Abisko National Park, established in 1909 as one of Sweden’s first national parks to protect its unique Nordic wilderness. As the mountains slowly start to rise around us, we travel through lands that have been a vital part of Sámi history for centuries, serving as traditional reindeer grazing land. Known for its steep cliffs and breathtakin vistas, Abisko National Park is a photographer’s dream and a perfect spot to enjoy the raw power of nature. The “Abisko Blue” light often creates a magical atmosphere and picture-perfect moments.

Lunch in Björkliden and Mountain Views

Next, we head to the Silver Waterfall (Silverfallet). In the winter, this powerful cascade is often partially frozen, turning the rushing water into intricate ice sculptures and creating a peaceful, refreshing stop for photos before we continue our adventure through the mountains. After exploring, we visit the cozy village of Björkliden. Originally established over a century ago as a base for workers building the iconic Iron Ore Line, it has since transformed into one of the most scenic destinations in the North. Here, we stop at a local hotel for a tasty lunch and a chance to relax while taking in the stunning mountain scenery before returning to back Kiruna in the afternoon.
