Take the reins and experience the ultimate Arctic thrill by learnign to drive your own husky team. This incredible dogsledding adventure gives you complete control as you steer your own sled through the glittering, frozen landscape just outside of Kiruna. Perfect for those seeking an active challenge, this tour allows you to connect directly with the dogs and the magnificent environment.
Your full-day mushing adventure begins at our camp near Kiruna and the world-famous Icehotel. Here, you are paired with a dedicated team of 4–5 enthusiastic Alaskan Huskies, dogs bred for their stamina and passion for running. After a thorough instruction session, you will step onto the sled runners and guide your team through snowy forests, over frozen lakes, and across vast swamps. You will learn to drive a dog sled on some of the most beautiful trails in Swedish Lapland. Each sled has space for two people, a driver and passenger, with an opportunity to switch positions halfway through the route.
Master the Mushing Adventure
This Drive your own Husky Team experience allows your to be a musher for a day. Before heading out, your guide provides comprehensive instructions on handling the sled, steering, and communicating with your dog team. The physical challenge of assisting your team up inclines and navigating the terrain is incredibly rewarding. It is up to you to control the speed of your dogs and make sure they are running safely. If you are alone, you will have the exciting opportunity to drive the whole way yourself! Along the route, we pause to ensure you have plenty of time to take photos of your team and the stunning winter landscape.
Post-Tour Relaxation and Local Insight
Upon returning to the kennel after your challenging run, our adventure concludes with a well-deserved moment of relaxation. We gather back at the camp to enjoy a satisfying, light lunch. This is the perfect time to share your trail experiences and cuddle with the huskies of your team. Our expert guide will share stories about the area’s rich history, the sled dogs, and the Arctic wildlife. This is your chance to create unforgettable memories of driving your own team and gain a deeper insight into the unique culture of Northern Sweden.
