Aurora Tour with Dinner in Abisko

The tour begins by driving into the night, keeping watch for the first hint of green auroras in the sky. When we emerge from the darkness, approximately 1.5 hours later, the village of Abisko lies before us, nestled against the mountain. Here, we serve a delicious three-course dinner giving you the chance to learn about the history of the area, Sámi culture, nature, and the science of the Northern Lights in a cozy atmosphere.

Abisko is famous for its clear skies, making it one of the best locations to spot the Aurora. If the weather is favorable after dinner, we will take a walk in the Abisko area to experience the landscape and actively look for the Northern Lights. Our local guides are trained photo guides, so if you bring your camera, they will help you take stunning photos. If the weather is cloudy in Abisko, we strategically drive back toward Kiruna, stopping if the sky clears up, ensuring we maximize all opportunities to find clear weather zones. Please note that we try our best to find clear skies, but cannot guarantee that you will see Northern Lights during this tour.  

Essential Tour Details and Logistics

Included in the tour are: three-course dinner;  photo guide, headlamp; and cover clothes/winter shoes on request, free pick-up from Kiruna Tourist Office (16:45), Camp Ripan (17:00), or Icehotel (16:30, no free pick up from Icehotel Dec 16 to Jan 10). The Aurora Tour with dinner in Abisko runs daily from September 1 to April 6. The total transfer time is 1–1.5 hours one way, and due to this duration, the tour is not recommended for children under 3 years old. Children’s booster seat available. Please note beverages are not included, and food allergies/restrictions must be noted when booking.
