The journey begins after a car pick-up, taking you to our starting point close to the Kalix River. Our trail meanders through the mountain forest and up onto the bare mountain. At the tree line, we have great chances to see the characteristic grouse in full winter glory. Once we pass the tree line, breathtaking open views etch themselves into your memory. We continue our round trip on the Arctic tundra with chances to find traces of both wolverine and lynx, as the tracks in the snow tell stories about the past night’s hunting.

Essential Tour Details and Logistics

The Arctic wildlife safari with snowmobile lasts about 5.5 hours, running from 9:20 am to 2:50 pm (Dec 6–April 6). The price is SEK 3,195 p/p (shared snowmobile, minimum 2 pers). You may purchase a supplement of SEK 1,200 p/p for your own snowmobile. Included: transfer from Kiruna C, warm clothes, helmet, snowmobile, guide, and a late lunch featuring typical Sámi dishes for the season. We recommend you bring your camera with charged batteries. The route is always adjusted after weather and snow conditions, and you will share a snowmobile (2 per snowmobile) unless you purchase the supplement.
