Snowshoe up a Mountain

The Snowshoe Hike is a rewarding adventure designed to showcase the dramatic Arctic light. From the deep blue Kaamos light to incredible, fiery sunsets, getting up above the tree line provides the best vantage point. This moderate 2.5h tour covers a 3km to 3.5km distance, focusing on the ascent to a spectacular viewpoint where you can see the entire panorama of the Lapland wilderness.

The Ascent and Trailside Discovery

On our way up the mountain, we will stop regularly to check out animal tracks and other forest features. The route is scenic and somewhat challenging, so moderate fitness is recommended. Your guide will teach you the best techniques to effectively climb mountain with snowshoes, making the trek both efficient and enjoyable. The effort is rewarded by the incredible scenery and sweeping views.

Summit Views and Logistics

Once we reach the summit viewpoint, we take time to fully absorb the view. We will enjoy a hot local berry juice and pause for pictures. This half-day snowshoeing mountain tour is graded as a moderate activity, requiring a minimum age of 12 years, maximum group sixe 8. Snowshoes and a headlamp (if needed) are included, but winter clothing is not provided, guests need to come well dressed. Pickup from different locations in Kiruna: Camp Ripan, Hotel Arctic Eden and Hotel Scandic.
